Main Responsibilities:
- Accurately input and process computer-based employee records in IPPS in all aspects including: staffing/payroll, leaves, benefits, absences, experience/seniority and retirements/resignations/terminations
- Review data currently in IPPS to confirm need, accuracy and identity, as well as recommend the most effective method(s) to capture, update, store, and access information as it relates to staffing/payroll, leaves, benefits, absences, experience/seniority and retirements/resignations/terminations.
- Ensure data management complies with provincial data collection reporting requirements for Educator data including Ministry of Education (MEN) and Ontario School Information System (OnSIS).
- Prepare and verify for accuracy HRIS reports and distribute to other program areas as required.
- Maintain summary reports for leaves of absence and postpartum sick leave, maternity leave, retirements, and resignations.
- Prepare and verify for accuracy reports relating to hiring, placement and payment of staff, correspondence, database files and special reports as requested for the various business functions of the Board.
- Create and produce regular reports for internal and/or external purposes (budget preparation, government funding determination and other ministry reporting).
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff responsible for human resources processes such as staffing, labour relations, disability and data management in order to provide assistance as directed and to cultivate innovative solutions within human resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Completed college diploma (2 year) in Human Resource Management or equivalent education.
- One (1) year of experience working in a progressive Human Resources environment (public sector environment is preferred).
- Human Resources Management Designation (CHRP, or equivalent) is considered an asset.
Specialized Skills Required:
- Advanced level skills and experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database, report writer (Crystal preferred), and HRIS information systems.
- Experience with Sparkrock and K212 HR information systems considered an asset
- Experience with Apply to Education would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work with data, analyze and manipulate data for a variety of applications.
- Familiarity with accounting procedures and budgets.
- Experience in preparing/developing accurate statistical reports.
- A commitment to service excellence.
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills as well as ability to function as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
